Hey there!

I'm Taylor

A design enthusiast. A visual learner. A social butterfly.

I believe that well executed, simple design is key to any positive experience.

My Path to UX/UI Design

I’ve always been a visual learner with a strong awareness & appreciation for detail. From habitable environments, to artwork on a wall - even the clothes I wear; the way things look & feel have a real impact on how I experience life. I took that passion to college, where I pursued a degree in architecture, hopeful that I would someday have a profound effect on the built-world. However, I soon found myself glued to a drafting screen & nose deep in a building code binder, when what I longed to do was connect with people; learn about them and help them achieve their dreams using my passion for the visual. While living in Silicon Valley, I found myself at the crux of a career shift. Surrounded by software engineers & web developers, I decided I’d join their ranks, with the goal of applying myself primarily to the front-end user experience of websites & applications.

My Experience in a Nutshell

I was born & raised in the Chicago area (hello, great architecture!) where I learned an appreciation for a well-designed environment. I then attended the University of Colorado, Boulder, graduating with a B. ENVD, Architecture in 2015. After graduation, I continued my westward journey, landing in the California Bay Area, where I worked for Habitech Architecture & Interior Design. While working as a Designer & Drafter, I was recruited to a building supply company, & spent a short amount of time as a sales rep for Emser Tile & Natural Stone. When I realized that the world of construction wasn’t my calling, I pursued an online credential in UI/UX design from BLOC. I’ve recently relocated to Denver, CO and I couldn’t be more excited to have an opportunity to work with you!
